Chi Huynh is the creative force behind Momento. An award-winning jewelry designer with over 25 years of experience in innovation, Chi has a long history of turning imagination into reality. He founded Galatea: Jewelry by Artist and pioneered the use of NFC technology in jewelry and collectibles. As the inventor and patent holder of the smart-card technology powering Momento, Chi’s vision is to give music physical form – a magical object fans can treasure. “We aim to end the modern form of slavery created by free music streaming and return power to the creators,” Chi says, reflecting his passion to empower artists in the streaming era. Under his leadership, Momento Trading Cards are “digital songs delivered through a physical collectible that fans can feel, hold and treasure” – a revolutionary way to experience music.

 

Chi’s Story (Origin): Chi’s personal journey is a tale of resilience and inspiration. At age 12, he left Vietnam on a tiny boat with 45 others, sent by his family toward a better future. He survived turbulent storms and even ruthless pirates while adrift in the South China Sea. For 18 days, young Chi and his siblings clung to hope with no food or water, praying for rescue. Finally, a passing fishing boat towed them to safety in Thailand – delivering the miracle they had been praying for. David Spero | Chief Sales Officer

David Spero brings deep legacy in the music industry to Momento. Inducted into the Personal Managers Hall of Fame in 2023, David’s career spans six decades of rock & roll history. He got his start at age 13, holding cue cards on his father’s TV show “Upbeat” in Cleveland – one of the first live rock music programs. By the 1970s he was a pioneering FM rock radio DJ, and soon after he segued into artist management, guiding the careers of legends. David has worked with a who’s who of rock royalty – Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), Glenn Frey, Dickey Betts, Bad Company’s Paul Rodgers, and many others. He even served as an executive at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, producing concerts and education programs.


David has a story for every gold record on his wall, yet he’s focused on the future – helping the next generation of artists embrace this new medium. David leverages his experience to forge partnerships, ensuring that Momento Trading Cards celebrate music’s greatest legacies and upcoming talents alike. (When Paul Rodgers encouraged him to write his memoir during the pandemic, David titled it “A Life in the Wings”) With David’s guidance, our venture strikes all the right chords in the industry, balancing innovation with respect for music’s rich heritage.

Mark Matthews | CMO

Mark Matthews is the technologist and storyteller driving Momento’s creative marketing. With a background at the forefront of immersive and emerging tech, Mark has spent his career blending cutting-edge technology with narrative design. He has led teams in creating interactive experiences using augmented reality, virtual reality, giant LED displays, AI-driven visuals, and projection mapping – all to captivate audiences in new ways. In past roles, Mark helped craft award-winning experiential campaigns for global brands like Intel, the NBA, Under Armour, and United Airlines. He’s orchestrated everything from augmented reality portals to VR motorcycle rides and 360° interactive installations that drop jaws and ignite imaginations.

As CMO of Momento, Mark channels this expertise into building a platform that feels alive and enchanting. He approaches marketing as a form of creative systems thinking – aligning technology, art, and storytelling into one cohesive vision. Whether he’s designing a digital treasure hunt for fans or lighting up a concert with interactive displays, Mark’s goal is to make every interaction with Momento memorable and magical. Under his direction, our marketing isn’t just promotion; it’s an ever-evolving experience that invites people into the wonder of Momento.

Ly Huynh | Vice President

Ly Huynh serves as Vice President of Momento Trading Cards and is a Bioengineering student at the University of California, Riverside. As a lifelong collector, Ly combines his love for collecting and creating to coordinate product development and outreach and to help shape the foundation for interactive collectibles.

He believes innovation arises from the power of observation. To express beauty and create useful tools is a gateway to expression, and he hopes to reveal this truth through his work and contributions to the Momento vision.
